Improving Lives and Smiles
I care for my patients the way I would a member of my own family. I believe in personalized treatment, with an orthodontic approach that’s tailored to a person’s clinical and personal needs. I really listen to a patient, at their consultation, learning about their smile dreams, lifestyle, and concerns. This allows me to craft a treatment plan that works for their situation.
I want my patients to feel as comfortable and as cared for as possible. I strive to connect with each person, building a trusting relationship with them. I look forward to their visits as a time to hear what’s happening in the life as well as a time to see the smile’s progress. By the time treatment is complete, my patient and I are friends and I celebrate their finished smile with them.
Education and Continuing Education
I love being an orthodontist. I’m fascinated by the blending of the science and mechanics of gently moving teeth, creating a smile that’s beautiful and healthy.
Many people think only of great smiles when it comes to orthodontics. That’s a large part of what we do. But there is an added benefit of better oral health, too. When teeth are properly aligned, it’s easier for a patient to thoroughly keep them clean. This decreases the likelihood of future dental disease.
Prior to entering into private practice, I completed my:
- Advanced diploma with distinction in Cellular Biology, University of Nevada, Reno
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery, University of California Los Angeles
- Master of Science in Oral Biology, University of California Los Angeles
- Three year Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedics Residency, University of California Los Angeles
A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, I’m constantly involved in continuing education lectures, seminars, and conferences. I love orthodontics and the challenge of keeping up with advanced techniques, new equipment, and appliances. This ensures the most ideal functional bite and beautiful smile results. By staying on top of the field with continuing education, I’m able to provide patients with the best care.
In the Community
Promoting and participating in community service programs is an important aspect of my career. I strive to dedicate my services to patients with craniofacial disabilities and welcome all patients with craniofacial disorders to come to our clinic.
I grew up in Reno, NV, and love having access to the vast wilderness of the Sierra Nevadas. I grew up snowboarding, hiking, and backpacking throughout the Sierras and continue to do so.
After attending UCLA, I moved up to the central coast, falling in love with the region and friendly people.
I’m happily married to my wife, Adrienne. We have two sweet little boys, Alex and Lucas, who are 19 months apart. Raising children is a big challenge and I relate to all the families on the challenges of being a parent! I care deeply about raising my kids to be the best they can be and being a great husband.
When not in the office, I love to spend my time outdoors, taking family trips and exploring the central coast. I also love watching and participating in sports. My favorites are endurance sports and I’m always in training for triathlons and ultraruns.
